I was on Facebook when my friend, Dawn, tagged me in a note:
I had leonie give me a graphic depiction of mine and ryans deaths... heres what she wrote:
The young man in his teens scanned his surroundings and rubbed his head, confused.
He walked around, peering behind tree after tree.
'Didn't I just walk this way?'
he thought.
He walked a little further till he
came up to a little stream.
He was riding on his pegasi before he set down in the little forest, and before he got lost
He had been wandering through the forest for hours looking for his pegasi.
But now, he felt no need to.
There, at the stream,
sat a young girl about the boys age.
She sat there silently, sketching the landscape before her.
The boy hid behind a tree, eyeing her features.
she had long dark hair..
that fell in curls over her shoulders.
The boy was going to step forward when the girl suddenly screamed, 'Gah! I hate this drawing! I hate sitting here!'
That was when she turned her head and saw the teen boy.
They just stared at each other
And a light blush began to form on the girls cheeks.
The boy, seeing that he was making the girl feel awkward, started talking.
'Um....hi.'
The girl responded, 'hi.'
The awkward silence elapsed again.
The boy stuck out his hand and blushed awkwardly.
'Uh...um...my name is Ry-'
The girl held out her hand and the boy stopped short.
'Hold on,' she said and she sat down on the floor, patting the spot next to her.
The boy took it as an invite and sat down casually next to her.
'As I was saying, my name is-'
The boy started.
But alas...he was cut off again.
A large bird flew over the two, causing the girl the shriek in terror.
IT was black with beady eyes.
It's wing span was as big as the boy's pegasi.
and that was BIG.
The gust of wind from the bird's wings as it flew by caused the trees to dance wildly and the girl tumbled away.
The boy gasped and reached out his hand to grab the girls, but he missed.
He quickly scrambled to his feet and chased after the girl.
She fell into the stream head first an quickly carried on downstream.
The boy bravely plunged into the icy water and swam towards the girl.
He grabbed her waist and pulled her body close to his.
Just in that moment, they were able to feel peace and safety...
But as the two carried downstream, the boy could see a large waterfall coming up.
So he buried the girls face in his shoulder, trying his best to calm her down.
Together, arm in arm, they dropped.
Metre after metre, awaiting their deaths.
The girl looked at the boy with tears in her eyes but he just smiled, moving closer to the girl as they fell.
He planted his lips on her forehead gently, as if saying 'it's alright.'
The girl opened her mouth and choked, 'What's your name?'
'What?' the boy asked, his ears blocked up by the wind.
'Your name.' the girl said louder.
The boy smiled, finally being able to tell the girl the one thing that he had been wanting to tell her since they first met.
'Ryan.'
He said.
The girl nodded and smiled.
'Mine's Dawn.'
they came together in an embrace as the sun began to set behind them.
It silhouetted their features, so anyone seeing them plummet to their deaths would see the shape of what looked like a dove.
A dove waiting to be set freed.
A dove longing it's freedom.
